North Seymour Island tour itinerary

The group departs from Puerto Ayora, on Santa Cruz Island and heads to the Itabaca Channel by shuttle, in a trip that take about 35 minutes. Upon arrival at the channel, the yacht staff will be waiting to take you to the beautiful North Seymour Island, in a 45-minute navigation. The island is completely flat and accessible. Along the trail, you will find several frigates that are resting on the branches or male frigates showing their red chest, some of them are with their spruce.

Further in the trail, you will see several blue-footed boobies that are nesting in the hot soil of the island – some may be with their offspring and others performing their mating dance ritual. At the end of the trail, you can spot yellow land iguanas walking through the bushes or hiding among their branches. At the seashore, you can see a colony of adult and baby sea lions resting on the rocks.

Snorkeling at Las Bachas beach

After visiting the island, the crew awaits to offer you a delicious lunch. Then, starts the navigation to Las Bachas beach, back on Santa Cruz Island. That’s where the snorkeling activity takes place, and you will see lots of colorful fish and sea turtles. Walking along the shores, hopefully you will be able to see flamingos in a lagoon. Once the visit to this beautiful beach is over, the yacht will take you back to the Itabaca Channel and finally to Puerto Ayora. You can’t miss visiting North Seymour, the island that has the largest number of birds in Galapagos.
